FAQ regarding research assistant scholarship application
205
|
1. What is full-time student? It refers to student who is not working. It is verified by checking the certificate of
your four major social insurance subscriptions.
2. What is the number of units?
Unit 1 is 50% of the tuition fee, unit 2 is
100% of the tuition fee. If your advisor’s research performance is over 80%,
and you are a full-time student, 50% is paid basically. If your advisor has
additional recommendation rights (top 55), you can apply for Unit 2. Be sure to
discuss it with your advisor.
3. I am a company worker. Can I apply for
the Research Assistant Scholarship?
If your advisor has additional
recommendation rights (top 55 students), you can apply for Unit 1 (50%)
scholarship. Please consult with your advisor about whether he or she has the
right to recommend.
4. Why do I need to submit my certificate
of four major social insurance subscriptions?
We check the status of full-time graduate
students (not employees) and non-full-time graduate students (employees and
business owners) through the four major social insurance certificates.
5. I’m a foreigner. Do I have to submit my
certificates of four major social insurances and payment of health insurance
premiums?
In case you haven’t received your alien
registration number, please submit an application within the application period
for the Research Assistant Scholarship first, then submit a copy of the
certificate of 4 major social insurance subscription and alien registration
card later.
You have an alien registration number, you
can receive the 4-major social insurance certificate by signing up for the 4
major social insurance subscription website (www.4insure.or.kr).
If you do not have health insurance, you do
not need to submit a confirmation of payment of health insurance premiums. If
you have a health insurance, please submit a confirmation of premium payment.
6. Why do I need to submit a confirmation
of payment of health insurance premiums?
Every year, we report to the government
whether scholarships have been awarded according to the income decile ratio
designated by the government through the Korea Scholarship Foundation's
scholarship statistics. Relevant documents are required for income
classification and proof.
7. Why do I need to submit a resident
registration certificate or family relationship certificate?
A full-time student is usually registered
as a dependent of the family's employer, and the health insurance premium
payment confirmation is issued in the name of the insured, so it is a necessary
document for verification.
8. I cannot get a confirmation of payment
of health insurance premiums.
Health insurance premium payment
confirmation can be issued to those who are paying health insurance. In other
words, if you are a dependent, you cannot get the issuance, and a family member
(insured) paying the health insurance premiums must apply for issuance. The
insured can access the Health Insurance Corporation (http://www.nhis.or.kr) and
issue a joint certificate after logging in. If it is difficult, the insured can
apply for issuance by fax to the Health Insurance Corporation call center at
1577-1000. If you send a separate fax for only health insurance premiums, the
Registrar cannot know whose document it is. So please indicate the student’s
department and name at the top of the document or call us.
(Graduate School Registrar: Tel.
02-940-5082~5083, FAX. 02-918-5683)
9. Because I’m not living with my family, the
name of the family member paying health insurance premiums does not appear on
the copy of my resident registration certificate.
Please obtain a family relationship
certificate. If you brother or sister is the insured person, their name is not
on the family relationship. Therefore, when applying for a certificate of
family relationship, select one of your parents for 'relationship with
yourself' and obtain a certificate.
10. I am receiving the International
Student Scholarship. Can I apply for double scholarships?
You can apply only if your advisor has the additional
recommendation right.
11. I have documents that I have obtained
in the past. Can I submit them?
Please reissue and submit on the specified
date of submission of documents.
12. How many semesters can I receive the Research
Assistant Scholarship?
The scholarship period for research
assistant is 1-4 semesters for the master's/doctoral program, 1-6 semesters for
the combined master's and doctoral program, and 1-3 semesters for the master's
and bachelor’s / master's degree linked program.
13. I received a Research Assistant Scholarship
and my advisor was changed. Can I still get the Research Assistant Scholarship?
A. If you are the recipient of the basic
unit (received 50% for the top 80% of the research performance of the advisor)
and the research performance of the changed advisor is in the top 80% at the
time of applying for the research assistant scholarship: The Graduate School
Steering Committee will decide if you can receive the scholarship continuously.
B. The recipient of additional unit must
return the scholarship.
(Details are in the Article 4-2 of Bylaws
